About the Workshop

This one day workshop teaches the principles and application of ‘Circles of Support’.  Circles of Support are a proven methodology for intentionally connecting people who are marginalised and isolated with other people in a way that builds relationship, reciprocity and common good.

The event will cover the core elements of circle development and include a wide range of examples, tools and resources for the practitioner to take away.  Material covered includes:

  • Determining the purpose of the circle
  • Relationship mapping
  • Selection of people to invite
  • Invitation processes
  • The first gathering
  • Keeping the circle alive
  • The role of the facilitator
  • What to do if you hit road blocks

Who should attend:

This event is specifically helpful for people who are concerned with the issue of how to assist people who are isolated and lonely to become an integral part of a small community such as Service Managers, Team Leaders, front line practitioners, family members and Allies.  Following the workshop it will be important for the participants to be able to try what they have learnt to gain the practical experience.
