Suzie is an experienced communications professional with a solid understanding of accessible communications. Through working with hard-to-reach audiences, she found a passion for creating content in accessible formats, such as video, Braille, audio, and HTML content. She has lived experience of disability, can communicate using the deafblind manual alphabet and is learning NZSL. Suzie has been working within the disability sector over the last few years, and has been a communications professional for over 20 years. Much of her experience was gained in areas such as local government and housing, which provide services to those most disadvantaged by society including disabled people. With a postgraduate diploma in Management majoring in Communications from Massey, in addition to her undergraduate and honours degrees in International Politics from Victoria University Wellington, Suzie has relevant qualifications to bring to the role. In her spare time, Suzie enjoys spending time with friends and family, DIY, aquarobics, walking the dog, and travelling. She is looking forward to supporting Imagine Better's efforts to support the disabled community to create lasting, positive change.
