Social Role Valorization (SRV) in Action | Whanganui

November 24, 2020 at 8:30am - 4:30pm

Social Role Valorization (SRV) offers an evidence based framework for understanding why the good life is so difficult to attain for marginalised and excluded people, including people with disabilities and impairments. It posits that social and societal devaluation is the root cause of peoples struggles and it offers a number of potent and proven strategies to address the impact of devaluation.

This is a one day workshop based on the core tenants of SRV.

It focuses on what SRV teaches us about the issue (social and societal devaluation) and the solution for people (valued roles) by looking at the issues from a practitioner perspective i.e. what can I, as a practitioner (or family member) do to better assist those I serve (or love) to more successfully transact life and obtain the good things of life.
