About the Event
Choice and control are foundation stones of both Enabling Good Lives and Mana Whaikaha. The new systems approaches assume that people understand what choice and control are – but is that really the case? Making informed and real choices is complex and complicated under the best of conditions. When people have impaired cognitive function, limited life experiences, are reliant on others to be able to move from decision to action or have not been supported to make small choices, it is even more complicated. This event will unpack the complexities surrounding ‘choice’ and give practical suggestions on how to make authentic choice more of a reality for people.
