The Transition to School: Experiences of Parents of Young Children with a Disability

This presentation reports on a study that is investigating parental wellbeing and parents' perceptions of the support provided as their young children with developmental disabilities make the transition to school. Results will be discussed in terms of the need for service providers to be responsive to individual family needs and how transition to school programmes can support families and children's adjustment in the early school years.
